Welcome to The Berwyn Bookshop!

We are a family-owned independent bookshop based in Flintshire, North Wales.

We first opened our doors in 2022 at Caffi Isa CIC, based in Mynydd Isa (near Mold). Originally focusing on second-hand books, we soon began to expand, setting the trend locally for hosting author events.

In 2024, due to the ongoing development of Caffi Isa's building, we found ourselves in search of a new premises. This search brought us to the town of Buckley. Bright, fresh and with a new (orange) brand identity, our second chapter saw an overhaul in the books we stocked, as we moved further away from pre-loved books, to a curated selection of new titles.

In early 2026, we were announced as a Country Finalist (for the third time) in the British Book Awards' 'Independent Bookshop of the Year' category. Just a couple of months later, we entered our third chapter, with a move to Brunswick Road, on the main high street of Buckley.

A premises with far more space, and an industrial-chic aesthetic, we diversified once again, now offering the complete bookshop experience: books, quiet spaces... and coffee!

Serving locally sourced items, such as Mug Run Coffee (Rhyl, North Wales), William Fox Syrups (Liverpool) and Harry's Hot Chocolate (Nantwich, Cheshire), you can take a break in our welcoming shop, and enjoy some of the best refreshments our region has to offer!
